June is synonymous with Pop Art at Galerie Wolfsen. For the eighth time, the gallery presents the major pop art exhibition Pop Eye, which marks the year’s big mid-year celebration. The exhibition opens, as is tradition, with an extra festive opening on Saturday, June 20th – everyone is welcome, and it’s of course free.

Pop Art has a visual focus on everyday life, advertising, mass media, celebrity culture, comics, consumption, etc. – a visual language that many people already surround themselves with.

There are several reasons why Pop Art is still popular with collectors and first-time buyers alike: the motifs are often recognizable, and the works have lots of energy, humor, or attitude. And Pop Art fits incredibly well into the visual culture we live in now with social media, (personal) branding, memes, logos, and constant visual stimulation.

As always, it will be an exhibition with a splash of color, lots of humor and irony, celebrities and cartoon characters, designer logos, and much more.
